I’m not diabetic, but [unfortunately], I’m an expert

All you didn’t want to know about Diabetes Mellitus

diabetes mellitus is a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood and urine.

It’s also a disease that can change your life if you let it. There are two types and they are very different.

Type 1 is a chronic condition where the pancreas produces little or no insulin.

Type 2 is a chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar (glucose).

MayoClinic.org

BIG Difference. So I got to be an expert over an expanse of 30 years. I first watched my mother deal with Type 2 diabetes – and since that was in the 60’s and 70’s, treatments were not very effective and she suffered a lot of bad side effects. My next experience was when my 13 month old daughter started showing signs of something wrong – weight loss, thirst, lethargy. Type 1 is immediate and deadly. If a person is not treated, they die. And yes, that is my 13 MONTH old baby!

We started our education right then, and 7 months later got another lesson when our 7-year old son fainted in the shower one morning, and we discovered, he had Type 1 Diabetes too. Fast forward 2 years, and our oldest – in 6th grade at that time – came home and said “Mom, I’m really thirsty and I’m peeing a lot!”. To say that we were devastated is an understatement, and back to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis we went.

So, about 10 years ago I got involved with a company that promoted “being your best at every age” – with all-natural, plant-based supplements that encompass all of the following – they are our health paks.

  • increasing hgh naturally
  • weight loss
  • workout and fitness
  • skin, hair, and nails
  • incredible face trio
  • joint comfort
  • body oxygenation

I am at a high risk for Type 2 Diabetes – the Four “F’s” – Figure – I carry extra weight, Forty – I’m past 40, Family – there’s that family connection, Food – my diet includes foods that are not diabetes-friendly.

So I have a choice to make. Do I want to keep doing the things I have always done and risk this terrible disease (yes – the effects can be terrible – including limb loss, blindness, renal failure to just name a few), or do I want to bit the bullet and change my habits so I do not develop Type 2 Diabetes – or other autoimmune diseases.

You think it would be an easy decision – but most of us are so comfortable with our habits, and keep our head in the sand thinking “it won’t happen to me”!

What matters? Duh – life. My husband and children and spending time with them. Being around to enjoy my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leaving a legacy. Teaching others how to live well. It matters. Life matters.

Join me. Let’s do this together. Leave me a comment and say “I’m in” – I choose life. I choose health. And I will share my story with you – and my plan.

5 Ways to Live a More Limitless Life

~ The Limitless Voice by Acecia Jones

Living Limitless
We all know people who always look on the bright side–and they might be onto something.

A study published in Health Behavior and Policy Review found that individuals who considered themselves optimistic were less likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease and were more likely to participate in healthy behaviors such as abstaining from smoking and drinking, maintaining a healthy weight, and exercising regularly.

Of course, for some people, staying optimistic is more easily said than done. Staying optimistic in the face of the nightly news can be a challenge.

You can’t control what’s happening in the world, but you can control your own attitude. Here’s how to reap the benefits of staying positive.

1.     Eliminate Negative Self-Talk.

Your mom always told you if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. But do you extend that same courtesy to the way you talk about yourself?

Negative self-talk only serves to highlight your shortcomings and darken your mood, so try this exercise: The next time you feel self-doubt coloring your thoughts, think of three positive things about yourself. Making positive self-talk a habit can boost confidence and banish a bad mood.

2.     Be Grateful.

The great Winston Churchill once said:

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

Perhaps that’s what separates optimists from pessimists–the ability to see the positive in every situation. Take the time to be grateful every day, whether it’s writing in a gratitude journal or counting your blessings before bed. Feeling grateful can highlight the silver linings even in challenging circumstances.

3.     Laugh!

Don’t forget to make time for humor, especially since laughter can elevate your mood. Go see a funny movie, have lunch with a few funny friends, watch silly cat videos online. Make sure that laughter is part of your daily life and it’ll be hard to be pessimistic.

4.     Practice Mindful Meditation.

Taking a few moments each day to step back, ponder, and meditate can have a positive effect on your mood. If the idea of meditation seems strange, try this: Set a timer for five minutes and find a quiet place in or around your home. Grab a cup of tea, watch the sunset, or simply just enjoy being unplugged for a few minutes. Doing so allows you to slow down and banish negative thoughts while allowing you to focus on an optimistic attitude.

5.     Get Moving.

We all know that exercise can have a powerful effect on mood, thanks to endorphins that release when you participate in anything from yoga to running. Set aside time to exercise each day, even if it’s just a brisk walk around the block.

Don’t let get work stress, family obligations, or even the nightly news get you down. There are many reasons to be happy. Make optimism a daily goal; you can add positive activities and reflection to even the busiest schedule.

Next task? Spreading that optimism to your family and friends.

Two studies suggest the sweet spot for longevity lies around 7,000 to 8,000 daily steps or about 30 to 45 minutes of exercise most days.

To increase our chances for a long life, we probably should take at least 7,000 steps a day or play sports such as tennis, cycling, swimming, jogging or badminton for more than 2.5 hours per week, according to two, large-scale new studies of the relationship between physical activity and longevity. The two studies, which, together, followed more than 10,000 men and women for decades, show that the right types and amounts of physical activity reduce the risk of premature death by as much as 70 percent.

By Gretchen Reynolds

Plenty of research already suggests that people who are active outlive those who seldom move. A 2018 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for instance, concluded that about 10 percent of all deaths among Americans 40 to 70 years old are a result of too little exercise. A 2019 European study found that two decades of inactivity doubled Norwegian people’s risk of dying young.

  • Both studies pinpoint the sweet spot for activity and longevity at somewhere around 7,000 to 8,000 daily steps or about 30 to 45 minutes of exercise most days. Doing more may marginally improve your odds of a long life, Dr. O’Keefe said, but not by much, and doing far more might, at some point, be counterproductive.
  • Accumulate and measure your activities “in whatever way works for you,” said Dr. Paluch. “Step counting may work well for someone who does not have the time to fit in a longer bout of exercise. But if a single bout of exercise fits best with your lifestyle and motivations, that is great as well. The idea is just to move more.”

Exercise your body to improve your brain.

“Exercising to increase your fitness literally builds brand new brain cells… It changes your brain’s anatomy, physiology and function.”

– Dr. Wendy Suzuky, PhD

“Every time you work out, you are giving your brain a neurochemical bubble bath, and these regular bubble baths can also help protect your brain in the long term from conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia.”

As great as that sounds, we all know it can be difficult to turn those long term benefits into motivation to actually get up and exercise regularly. Keyword there is motivation… sometimes, you need to do things regardless of motivation.
Start by thinking of exercise — or any movement — as part of your daily routine for caring for your body, like brushing your teeth.

Here’s what our daily schedule is looking like:

6:00 am – Shower/Brush Teeth
7:00 am – Walk the dog
7:30 am – CHARGE* + Breakfast
9:00 am – Work
12:00 pm – Walk around the block with coworkers
12:30 pm – CHARGE* + Lunch
6:00 pm – Dinner
8:00 pm – LUNAGEN*
10:00 pm -THRIVE-Hgh* and bed

While some days will include a workout, lately motivation is somewhat lacking and it doesn’t happen. By making “movement” a habit, like brushing my teeth, I’m getting exercise in regardless of my motivation level.

Even if you start with just a few minutes a day, it’s likely that you will end up increasing what you’re doing over time. That’s what research in Dr. Suzuki’s lab has shown. “The more exercise you do — if you are successful at regularly exercising — the more motivation you gain,” she says. “I don’t want to do it some mornings, but then I remember how good it really feels at the end.”

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

On the road again – sometimes.

There’s nothing like new shoes to get you back to your commitment. I’ll admit I’ve been pretty lazy this summer. New house, new gardens, new neighbors, new boat (my son’s) – I seem to find ways to fill my time and forget about the habits I had been so diligent to form.

Like my mile-a-day walk. I don’t set a morning alarm – I’m working from home – who cares what time I get started? Typically it’s just early enough to wake up, make some iced tea, boot up my computer and get ready for my daily Limitless leaders call at 9 am. No judging. Then I have a few messages to answer and make some phone calls. I need to eat a little breakfast and play Tai chi. By then I feel like I need to get my IPA (Income Producing Activity) done – otherwise my day is half gone!  What happened to my 30 minutes of moving?  Oh, I’ll do it this afternoon.

4 pm. The hottest time of the day. I could go now, but it’s full sun, and I need to get dinner started because Warren likes to eat early. After supper – then I’ll go for a walk, or maybe a bike ride! A bike ride would be fun. But in my new area, I’m not familiar enough with the trails. I’ve gone to a few neighborhoods where there are nothing but hills!  And it’s so hot. Biking would be cooler, but now more than ever I need to wear my helmet and that makes my hair stick to my head. I’m not on country roads anymore – I’m in the city, so I have to take precautions.

And then there’s Book Club next week – and I’ve barely started the selection. I’ll just sit out on the deck for a while and read while there is shade out here. What the heck – it’s getting dark already?  It seems just yesterday it was light until 10 pm. Hmmm…  9 pm is MY time – I pour a glass of wine and settle in for a little Netflix.  I’ll walk tomorrow.

Simple, common-sense ways to boost your immune system

The human body is a spectacle – it fights illness, creates new life and enables us to achieve so much in life. It is a powerful instrument. If we fuel it appropriately, and look after it with the love and attention it deserves, it can help us to realise and accomplish our goals. Our bodies are amazing.

We know that masks and sanitizers are important tools to keep us safe right now, but the reality is WE do not take care of ourselves or educate that we CAN build up our immune systems. FEAR does more harm than protect. Take the time to read AND take care of yourself!

🌿 🌿🌿 Love this text from a French Naturopath:

“It’s irritating that day after day and increasingly, in the heart of the pandemic, the media does not explain the functioning of our immune system.

Constantly, we are invited to seek external protection that will save us: buying masks, buying chemical filled sanitizers without specifying that they should not be used for several days in a row because they will eliminate the first natural immune barrier of our body: bacteria and lipid film of our skin, which is a barrier to viruses. This is also due to the excessive use of antibacterial products in recent years, and a misunderstanding about the role of bacteria in our immunity. Our bodies become more sensitive year by year.
Let’s prioritise classic soap!

  • At what point, was it explained to the population that everyone has the ability to naturally strengthen their immune system in a few days (young people) or in a few weeks? This certainly would not prevent the spread of the virus, but it would strengthen our defenses against it and therefore reduce the proportion of serious cases, to heal much faster at home.
  • Why not engage in platform information channels, which dedicate 95% of their time on this subject for several weeks, to health professionals talking about prevention, such as nutritionists, naturopaths, herbalists, who could carry out a huge work of information and prevention and so relieve the doctors on the front lines?
  • Tell people that eating trash, such as industrial products, processed and refined foods is the first thing that destroys our immune defenses🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️
  • That the efficiency of our immune system closely depends on the quality of our intestinal flora and therefore the quality of what we eat.
  • Therefore, raw vegetables and fruits are the best way to quickly strengthen our mineral reserves, necessary for immunity.
  • Explain that fasting strengthens the immune system in just 3 days.
  • Talk about the benefits of a cold shower that in a few days increases the level of certain T lymphocytes.
  • Talk about the effectiveness of antiviral essential oils? Also vitamin C in high doses and minerals like zinc and selenium.
  • Talk about the importance of physical activity and recent studies that prove the rapid effectiveness of yoga to strengthen the immune system. 🧘🏻‍♀️
  • Explain that fear is an immunosuppressant and that anxiety weakens you daily.
    The media preys on this.
  • Explain to the people they have within them a potential defense and healing that is infinitely more powerful than any drug in the world and can be activated quickly. Our body is a real healing machine.

In this period when we finally have time, it’s time to take an interest in our own functioning, claim our personal power, take control of our health and our future.” 🌿🌿🌿

The Ultimate Fat-Burner??

I am not in any way, shape or form an athlete. I like to walk, bike and swim. I used to downhill ski and ice skate when I was younger – I guess I like to just have fun.  Moving in any form is so good for us – it increases our endorphins, keeps our joints and tissues strong and supple, and burns calories.  But this product raises the bar – introducing ELECTRIFY!

“Advanced Thermogenic Booster* – ELECTRIFY

We have two types of fat in our bodies: white (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT). WAT is the primary site of energy storage, but BAT contains a large number of mitochondria — the “powerhouse” of our cells — and is specialized for energy expenditure. Signifi cant amounts of BAT are present in newborns and play an important role in temperature regulation by producing heat during the neonatal period. The primary “fuel” for these heat generators is fatty acids. That’s right… brown fat actually helps burn away the fat stores in our bodies to produce heat. So how can we activate the BAT in our bodies? That’s where Electrify comes in. The key ingredients in this powerful formula can actually activate brown adipose tissue and promote inducible brown adipogenesis to enhance thermogenesis and energy expenditure when coupled with exercise.* Here’s how it works. Take one serving of Electrify one hour before working out. When activated by exercise, this powerful formula maximizes the thermogenic, metabolic, and fat-burning effects of exercise… before, during, and after your workout.* What does this mean for you? With Electrify you can shred more calories and activate your brown adipose tissue to boost your metabolism, maximize your results and get that lean, sexy body you’ve been dreaming of a whole lot faster!”

Here’s how I use it. I take FORCE – our total body oxygenator when I get up in the morning. 30 minutes before I am going to walk, bike or swim, I take ELECTRIFY – some people call this combo ELECTRA-FORCE! It’s combo-stacking at its best!!  I have more energy, stamina, and am able to push further, faster than without. I burn more calories and make my workout more effective.

Limitless Worldwide, LLC. is proud to have clinical studies and extensive research that we publish about every one of our products. To download the Fact Sheet on ELECTRIFY, please click here.

“Electrify can further your energy expenditure after your workout ends. Electrify contains a proprietary blend of thermogenic ingredients specifically developed to symbiotically increase your energy expenditure for more than 3 hours. Clinical trials have shown that the ingredients in Electrify have a significant effect on the maximization and extension of thermogenic processes in the body.*”

The #FindYourLimitless Button

What if we said there was a reset button for our health, would you click it and want to start fresh? Most people would say yes, but it’s not that easy. Sometimes life just hits us and the longer we stray away from staying active and taking care of our bodies, the harder it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So what can we do now that’ll prevent us from wishing there was a reset button?
Dr. Dean Ornish and his wife Anne recently came out with a new book called, “UNDO IT! How Simple Lifestyle Changes Can Reverse Most Chronic Diseases”. After years of research and peer-reviewed studies, they have found that you can reverse the damage you have done to your body and prevent heart disease, diabetes, and even some cancers by simply making these small lifestyle changes.
  1. Eat well
  2. Move more
  3. Stress less
  4. Love more
That’s the Ornish’ mantra!
Their new book claims that these 4 lifestyle changes can help transform your health:
Eat A Whole Food Plant Based Diet
Dr. Dean Ornish said you should try implementing foods that are naturally low in animal protein, fat, sugar, and refined carbohydrates with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and soy products in their natural and unprocessed forms.
You and I both know that Limitless products are the way to go when making healthy choices! Both Charge and SkinnyStix can help with appetite control, mood elevation, energy, and improve weight-loss efforts. Also, GlyStrictin can help reduce food intake and decrease body weight and loss of fat mass! How amazing is that??
Exercise
Incorporate moderate exercise such as walking and strength training. Do what you love… you don’t have to go to a gym. If there’s something you enjoy (hiking, heavy gardening, shoveling snow, dance, or yoga), do that! It’s more satisfying when you’re having fun at the same time.
Don’t forget about these products to help Rock Your Workout or Fuel Your Health – they will definitely make whatever it is you’re doing feel like a breeze!
  • Thrive-hGH
  • Force
  • Electrify
  • Stride
Manage Stress
Meditation is the antidote for a short fuse! This is the best way to manage your stress and you can do it anywhere. There are many apps you can download on your smart phone, too! So whenever you need a moment to yourself, just remember it only takes a few minutes to get back into the right mindset.
Love and Support
This is the most meaningful and important part! People need to maintain positive motivators in their lives. Studies have shown that people who feel lonely, depressed, and isolated are 3-10 times more likely to get sick and die prematurely from virtually all causes compared to those who have a strong support system. The sense of love, connection, and community is more than medicine. It’s what keeps us going!
We’re excited to see what this year has in store for Limitless and we’re so happy to have you a part of the Limitless community/family/team! We’ll always be here to show you love and support. There’s no need for a reset button, just click the #FindYourLIMITLESS button… Let’s do this!
